New content on burn injuries added to the Paramedics programme

A new module on managing burns has been added to the Paramedics e-Learning Programme.

Developed by a leading paramedic and burns specialist nurse, this module is aimed at emergency care workers dealing with burn injuries in a pre-hospital setting. It helps learners to build a greater understanding of the pathophysiology, assessment, and immediate management of burn injuries.

The new module covers:

  • assessment and management of minor burns
  • severe thermal burn injuries in adults
  • paediatric thermal burns
  • specialist burn injuries

The Paramedics e-Learning programme now features 14 modules covering a wide range of topics, including clinical decision making, pain management, mental health and supporting paramedics practice during COVID-19. The content has been developed in the UK by the College of Paramedics and NHS England e-Learning for Healthcare. Each module has been created by subject-matter experts and features bite-sized sessions that take around 15 minutes to complete.
