The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism elearning programme provides participants with an understanding of autism and learning disability and an introduction to communicating with and making reasonable adjustments for autistic people and people with a learning disability.

The engaging online elearning sessions provide an introduction to and awareness of learning disability and autism, helping employers to train their workforce to provide safe, compassionate and informed care.

The programme also includes a downloadable handbook that provides more detailed information, sources of support and helpful links to resources.  PLEASE NOTE:- The handbook makes specific reference to NHS England, but much of the information it contains will apply to care settings globally.

Available to health and care workers around the world, including the general health workforce, social care workforce, as well as family, parent, sibling carers, personal assistants of people with a learning disability and autistic people, and anyone who requires a general awareness of the support people with a learning disability and autistic people need.

PLEASE NOTE: –  The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism elearning programme is part 1 of a 2-part programme offered to health and care staff in England that includes live online sessions and face to face training (depending on the level being studied).
