Cultural Competence
Having a greater awareness of a wide range of cultural beliefs can help healthcare professionals to meet the differing needs of patients and their families.
The Cultural Competence elearning programme helps you to understand key issues relating to culture and how this may influence the uptake of healthcare and treatment options. It is hoped that this programme will help to reduce disparities in healthcare outcomes.
Using the elearning, you will have opportunities to reflect on, and review, your own understanding and practice to help you care for patients from different backgrounds.
The programme has been developed by NHS England elearning for healthcare in collaboration with the Royal College of Midwives and other key stakeholders.
