- e-Den is supporting the professional development of more than 350 dental practitioners employed by the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), which manages healthcare across the state. e-Den has been widely used by practitioners since its introduction.
- All undergraduate and postgraduate students in the University of Otago's Faculty of Dentistry now have access to e-Den to support their training. This follows a hugely successful pilot project amongst students in 2016.
Professor Paul Brunton, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University, said: “e-Den is a highly interactive, quality-assured resource. It provides a broad theoretical foundation on core topics, helping students to prepare for lectures and practical work. This also enables us to focus our teaching on discussion of key points rather than lecturing – helping to strengthen learning and understanding on the many complex concepts involved in dentistry.”
Andrew Lamb, Student President in the University’s Faculty of Dentistry, said: “e-Den is a fantastic resource. The wide range of topics and high-quality content will make students more self-motivated and passionate about what they are learning, giving them instant feedback on their progress with self-assessment."
